Antonietti Malbec is BACK!

Antonietti is one of those old-school producers who doesn't seem to care about product continuity or uniform anything.  Many of you know that the last vintage of Antonietti Malbec we had was 2005.  Rumor has it he sold off his 2006 in order to pay for his daughter's wedding, and frankly I haven't a clue as to what happened to the '07 and '08.

Suffice to say the 2009 finally arrived last week (28 cs, 6 of which are gone).  And when it sells out, I have no idea as to when we'll be getting more.  But, if you like traditional Malbec (which to me, can be reminiscent of good aged Bordeaux, forget the score, read the tasting notes), this is a wonderful little find for only $14.99 a bottle

Click here to order... 20% Off by the case... comes down to 12 bucks a bottle!  Take a drive to North Union Street and pick some up at FranksWine... you'll thank me once you pop one.

The 2009 Antonietti Malbec displays a dense purple color along with an inviting nose of cedar, Asian spices, incense, and black cherry. In the glass it is surprisingly plush for its humble price as well as intense, layered, and nicely proportioned. This savory effort over-delivers in a big way and will drink nicely over the next 4-5 years. It is an outstanding value.

The new releases from Antonietti include two sparkling wines, the first made with the Charmat method and the second with the traditional Champagne method.
